On Idol
David Cook is now the American Idol.  Cool.  Although, when I watched the replay of the Finale last weekend, I would have to agree with Simon Cowell's remark that it was a "knock-out" for David Archuleta.  Cook's performance was too uneventful.  Wrong song choices too.  I liked "Dream Big", but definitely a Collective Soul song wasn't really a good finale song.  I asked my friend why Cook won, and she said "Coz he's hot".  Yeah.  How could I have forgotten the hotness factor in contests like these?  This is probably the AI season where I did not have that much strong preference on which of the Final 2 would win.  They're both very good and I like the genre of their songs.  I'm buying both their CDs when they launch it.

DC won because he's the most consistently original contestant that has ever graced AI. Whenever he performs, people eagerly anticipate how he would Cook-ify a song. I would have to agree that based on the finale alone, DA edged out DC but it's partly because everyone knows and expects DC to be so much better than what he showed in the finale.=)
